                Messa Zheng receives her BFA degree from the University of Oregon and MFA degree from San Diego State University, As a jewelry artist, she currently studies and lives in San Diego.

 

                She aspires to develop a kind of psychological accessories which exploring the mental state of contemporary people. Seeking accessories that show something hiding behind their masks in contemporary impetuous society. Let the jewelry become not only a decoration but also a kind of self-healing in a busy life.

                 She takes great satisfaction from the viewer finding new meaning from her original ideas. She represents meaning in a subtle way because she hopes her work can not only express her own thinking but also creates a connection between the viewer’s inner and outer self. Through understanding the meaning of her work, she hopes it could inspire people to be more inquisitive about themselves and think deeply about the connection between ourselves and the world we are living in.

 

                 She experiments with different materials like fiber, plastic, and various metals to see what effect they create together. She frequently combines them with different colors or textures. the combination of materials challenges the public's blind allegiance and obsession with expensive jewelry.
